What UpServe is
UpServe shows a branded upsell popup the moment a shopper adds to cart: one item becomes two before the cart is even open. It is the third app under our ServeApps label, listed on the Shopify App Store, and on a fully free plan while we grow it.
The problem we built it for
Add-to-cart is the highest-intent click in a store, and most upsell apps either ignore it or hijack it with a popup that looks like a different website. Merchants told us two things: it has to look like the brand, and they want to know exactly what each offer earns.
What we built
Your brand, down to the pixel
Fonts, colours, spacing and button styles are set per store, so the popup reads as part of the product page and not as an interruption. Offers can be a complementary product, a bundle or a discounted add-on, with the rules set per product or collection.
Know what every offer earns
An analytics view per offer: impressions, add-to-carts, conversions, conversion rate, added revenue and revenue over time. Merchants switch off the offers that do not pay and double down on the ones that do.
Where it comes from
The post-purchase upsell inside SelfServe is what merchants kept asking us to bring forward to the cart. For cash-on-delivery markets in particular, merchants told us the thank-you-page and add-to-cart upsells were the difference between a thin margin and a healthy one. UpServe is that request turned into its own app.
How it is built
A theme app extension renders the popup on the storefront, a Remix admin on App Bridge and Polaris manages offers and brand settings, and conversions are attributed through cart attributes so the revenue numbers hold up against Shopify's own reports.
